No matter what others say I found 50 shades to be a very entertaining piece of literature. The author may have had a bland writing style, but I actually liked that it kept things simple and to the point. It left more to my imagination and I felt overall, the series is one of my favorite reads of all time.

The writing is ok, the only thing I really hate about it is that it gives a false image of what BDSM philosophy really is, kind of too simplified for vanilla audiance imo.
